Marching for Pride 2012!

In New Orleans on Saturday, June 23rd, the NOLA Pride Parade will take place. It follows the Family Day/Community Resource Fair that runs from 1pm to 5pm at Washington Square Park.

Beginning at Washington Square Park. Lineup begins at 4:00PM and everyone must check in by 5:30 PM. The parade must roll at 6pm. ANYONE can still be in the parade! As long as they are at line up by 5:30, they can participate!

For those of you in Baton Rouge, join in on the Equality March. It actually starts on Sunday morning at 9am, just east of 4th Street on North Boulevard.

The purpose of the March is threefold:

1) to draw attention to the inequalities experienced by LGBT people in Louisiana with regard to employment, housing, and relationship recognition, and to the verbal, physical, and sexual harassment and assault perpetrated against this population

2) to make visible an invisible population, one that is often overlooked and disadvantaged in Louisiana legislation

3) to raise awareness among Louisiana residents, both within the LGBT community and outside, of the many organizations around the state that are working to support and advance equality for Louisiana's LGBT citizens.

After the march, come to the Baton Rouge PrideFest at the LSU Student Union (http://www.facebook.com/events/271054882915750/).
